The Club ride, a weekly 45km ride around Chew Valley Lake, starting from Ashton Way Car Park, every Saturday at 7am. This ride runs throughout the year, come rain, come shine.
Before setting out on the club ride a member the committee gives the health and safety briefing and the peloton is split into three/four groups depending on numbers and abilities. The purpose of this is to make the ride as safe and enjoyable as possible for all riders… and to ensure we arrive together at the Club’s HQ, Keynsham Cricket Club, for coffee and cakes.
Those joining SAS’ ride for the first time are usually invited to join the ‘newbies’ group to make sure they are happy with the route and riding amongst plenty of other cyclists.
We all ride at our own risk, so the decision ultimately lies with you to follow our advice.
Ad hoc rides including hill sessions and MTB are arranged through the Club’s Facebook group, throughout the summer. Trust us, if you enjoy riding and don’t want to go alone, post it and there will always be plenty of others who will want to go along too!
